T3

T3
After a three hour flight from Cochin, we landed at around 11 PM in Delhi. Terminal 3 was deep asleep. But in a few moments, arrival of two flights made the place come alive. People were sprinting towards the Baggage claim terminal while some were rushing to get a cab. Few were frantically searching for relatives and loved ones. We joined the commotion for we were not in Trichur anymore. We were in Delhi, the land of Ego.

Artist

Old Artist

My Grandfather is an artist. During my child hood his studio at the far end of the big hall of our ancestral home was my favorite place to spend time. I loved watching him paint; the precision of strokes, blending of colors, the smell of paint and the painting itself. Now at 83, he still manages to put in long hours. That is dedication.

I was back at my home after a week at Ernakulam and went to see his recent works. Thats him explaining the story behind one of those. You can see some of his works in the background.

Apollo

Apollo

Tonight's trip was to Kalamassery. Agenda was to go to the Apollo factory to collect some coupons. So we went, woke up the security, collected the coupons and returned home. Since it was late night (9 PM is late night!!) traffic was manageable. So we were back in the hut pretty quickly. Another errand successfully completed!

It was another rainy day. The mud pools had been refilled. We went out for a stroll when rain took a break. So here is a snap of an ad.

A Mid-Week Afternoon's Dream

Work

The blogs are nice and funny to read,
But its mid-week and I have reports to feed.
And e-Mails to be sent before I leave,

Neon Glow

Neon Glow

After going to The Chottanikkara Temple, we had dinner from a hotel. The place was almost deserted. Only one car remained in the parking lot. By the time we drove off, waving good bye to two half sleepy watchmen, the watch on my wrist said 10.30. End of another day.

Time Machine

Temple

Today’s travel took us to Changanassery and sent me 16 years back in time. In those days my grandparents used to live in a house very near to the Changanassery Temple and we used to visit them during vacation. Those were golden days of my life. We sold off our home back in 94 and after 15 years our old home has been demolished by the current owner to make room for his new House. End of a Home that gave me some memorable moments.

26 Days Later

Last month was an eventful one for me, not because I was on leave for the major part of that month, but because of the happening of an Event that has truncated my name to 'Traveler'.

In the aftermath of The Event, I took leave from May 11th onwards and after 26 Days of authorized absence rejoined bank on June 6th. Although nothing much has changed here in the space of these 26 days, a series of actions have been set in motion which may affect my future travels (if there are any). After 2 years of backpacking across India, am all too happy to get some kind of relief from the hectic travels.

Whether I travel or not, am hoping to keep this space alive. I know that there is at least ONE loyal reader who loves to read these Chronicles.

Monsoon

Monsoon

It was raining heavily that evening and the small umbrella that I had was not big enough to protect me from the heavy downpour. I was not complaining. After 3 months of summer heat, I was enjoying the rain. Monsoon has a weird beauty that make you smile even if you are drenched from head to toe. But I fear, for sometime in not so distant future, we may have to bid good bye to the Monsoon as we know it. I hope it happens after my lifetime.
