The Great Nila

Nila

I was again travelling by Train. This time from Calicut to Thrissur by the Jansatabdi. I had  kept a book in my backpack to read during the 2 hour trip and was doing exactly that till the train reached Shoranur. I was reading a description of Nila of older times and was thinking how crazy that can seem for someone who has been to the riverside recently. I didn't know that the train was crossing the river. Anyways i had an urge to look out of the window and there it was: Nila. It has changed, i thought. Monsoons had its effect. Now it almost looks like a river; water flowing effortlessly. Sand dunes which cover the riverbed during the rest of the year had all disappeared under water. At least for 2-3 months Nila gets its dignity back. Thank you Monsoons for looking after the great Nila.
